- Built-in template

When you move to a new address in Germany, you register the new address with the registration office of your new city within two weeks. The old registration is usually updated automatically. Then tell everyone else who needs your address.

Questions and answers
Do I need to deregister at my old address?
Not when you move within Germany: registering at the new address is enough. You deregister (Abmeldung) when you move abroad or give up a home without moving into a new one in Germany.
Does my Steuer-ID change when I move?
No. The tax ID stays the same for life.
